Shoot Wrestling is considered a "folk Style" of wrestling in Canada, originally termed "Chin Na". It was introduced in Canada in 1987 by Ron Beer and contains elements of Judo, Jui-Jitsu, Grappling, Freestyle Wrestling, Karate, Kick Boxing, and Kung Fu.


Two of my favourite techniques are found in this book - the Leg Ride and the Seven Star.


The Leg Ride is a method of creating submission holds using your legs to control and submit your opponent. This is rarely seen today in this age of resurgence in submission wrestling. It is so effective, you will wonder "Why didn't I think of this?".


The Seven Star is the basis of the Shoot Wrestling Canada series and is the first series of moves I created. This amazing series goes from stand up to the ground. It is a take down created to counter a right handed throw. This versatile take down is one of the most popular moves in Shoot Wrestling Canada. Also shown are two variations of the Seven Star called the Two-on-One and the Front Seven Star.
